Christmas to everyone! We hope you have had a good and peaceful year
and that 2009 will be too!
Well, this was the year of the wedding, the one wished for by Juliet for
some time past. Steve and Juliet chose June 28th which was one of
only two fine Saturdays in June (and most of the Summer). The
other fine June weekend was National Gardens Open Day for Brize Norton
village, so we were doubly blessed.
The happy couple came out of church to be greeted by Juliet's first horse, Winnie (now 25 years old), our two dogs Paddy & Rhubarb, and Steve's VW beetle.
Their transport to the Trout at Tadpole Bridge was a VW camper van
(spilt screen of course). Juliet wore my 42 year old wedding dress
and carried sprigs grown from my wedding bouquet in hers! Everyone says
it was a great wedding. More pictures can be found
Jonathan has been appointed as House Master and Head of IT at The
Oratory Prep. School near Reading and starts in January. Bex will
be a part time House Mistress but continue working at Iffley Mead
special school in Oxford and Charlie & Harry will be attending the
Oratory Prep. School. It is a big move for them all, they are
keeping their house on the Shilton Park Estate and hoping to rent it
out. The Boarding House at the School has a four bed-roomed flat
for them, so there is room to expand!
Philip & I are still busy with volunteer reading in school, and he as
Churchwarden & Treasurer, and I am still running Buggy Club and
arranging all the wedding flowers for church. My birthday treat
was to be taken up by Roy (our vicar & friend) in a helicopter over the
you and your families had a rewarding year and that 2009 will bring good health
and happiness to everyone.
Looking forward to hearing all your news.
MARY & PHILIP
