Our first term has been a busy but enjoyable one! Here are some things that we have enjoyed this term…

Our main topic has been Uganda, we have enjoyed finding out about this fascinating country; their customs, history and day to day life. We had visits from Reverend Billings and Mr Farley who have both been to Uganda, hearing their first hand experiences were interesting and made some of want to visit Uganda one day! Uganda linked into our art work this term, we have spent time studying African art and had lots of opportunity to recreate it ourselves, we have used different mediums, worked independently and as a class, creating a large wall hanging. We particularly enjoyed making African masks after looking at African patterns.
In Science we have been looking at materials. We have thought about the water cycle, different ways of separating materials and carried out a number of investigations and experiments.
This term we have had a Badminton teacher come in once a week as well as learning how to play hockey in our Games lessons.
In ICT we have been busy sending and receiving emails as well as using Microsoft Word and the Internet to support our work in other subjects.
