Appointment of New Rector

From the Bishop of Dorchester:

Regarding the new Rector of the St Britius, Brize Norton and St John's the Evangelist, Carterton Team Ministry.

I am delighted to be able to announce that the Reverend Bill Blakey has accepted the invitation of the patrons to be come the new Team Rector of the Brize Norton and Carterton Team Ministry.

Bill is currently Team Rector in the Wareham Team Ministry and before that he was Team Rector in the Hartland Coast Team Ministry in Devon where he was also Rural Dean.  in the past he has done a lot of youth work with CYFA Ventures.  He has served on the Church of England Evangelical Council and throughout his 25 years of ministry he has served as a Governor and Chaplain in a number of Church Schools.  His particular passions in ministry are mission and encouraging lay discipleship.  He and his wife Sue are greatly looking forward to coming to serve within the Team.  They will be moving to the Rectory in October 2007, and I am looking forward to licensing him towards the end of that month or in very early November.

+ Colin Dorchester.
